Happy Birthday to Me! :)

Ok, I'm actually not that in to celebrating my own birthday...to be honest I really kind of dread the day.  But, I got some sweet surprises this year that made turning the big 3-3 not so bad!  My flowers from Maddie and Robert at work, what a complete surprise!  They actually arrived on Wednesday, so I had a few days at work to enjoy them!  And notice my pretty orchid in the back I got from my sister when I first started my new job...it is still going good!
My first bouquet of flowers from Maddie...she picked them herself (with a little help from Papa).
We went home to Comanche this weekend, too.  We really didn't celebrate because Curt, Kaimi, and the kids wanted to be there, so we are waiting until next weekend to do a combo celebration for Mom and me...September is a busy month for us girls!  We just relaxed at home and played with little one.  She LOVES going to Nana and Papa's!  Talk about loving being the center of attention.  I am not sure I like being 3rd fiddle though!  That kid forgets we exist when she sees here Nana and Papa, ha!  At church today she did great...until she saw Papa from a distance handing out communion, she was pointing to go to him, and when she couldn't go, let's just say someone was NOT very happy!  Oh, this kiddo of ours.  When we got home, we asked where Nana and Papa were and she was looking around very concerned...she has gotten good at saying their names now!
How can we compete with this?!

Robert was dying to put out his cameras to see what game he had waiting on him for the next few months of hunting season.  We looked at the cameras he set out and saw lots of BIG hogs, some doe, a squirrel, a possum, a raccoon, a few bucks (though they were not the ones Robert has had his eyes on the last year or so) and some sheep...quite the array!  Robert got to dove hunt and hog hunt this weekend, it was a good weekend for him, too!

I told mom NO COOKING this weekend, I didn't want to spend one second in the kitchen (not that I do anyway, haha).  So here we are headed out to eat at Woody's BBQ, what a hidden gem!
I love these first two pictures...this is so Maddie now, she is interested in everything!

The only thing that makes growing older sweet...is doing it with these two.

Eyes on Papa at all times!

 My heart is so full...

Look at these two mess pots on the ends!

Sad to see the weekend go...but I have next weekend to look forward to now!

17 Months!

Guess who turned 17 months old today?!  We had a nice weekend at home just relaxing.  It was Christmas in September for the "birthday" girl.  I had been meaning to get her a baby doll that she could feed and a shopping cart so this weekend we made a trip to her mama's favorite store...TARGET!  We loaded up and boy has she LOVED the new additions to her play room...just makes me sad we waited this long to get them.  Oh, well, as you can tell by the background of these pictures, she doesn't have many toys at all!

Feeding her baby.  Girlfriend is such a little mama bear!
Kissing baby girl...I'm just glad she still saved plenty for me!
 And another kiss!
Showing off her skills to Daddy.

Shopping time!  See, poor baby has no toys to play with :)
 Shopping with her Bestie!
Did you pay for that yet?!
 Ok, back to her baby...
I love this picture...look at that little smile, makes me smile!
Getting that bottle in the baby's mouth takes concentration!
But, in the end, there is only ONE baby in this house...

This cracks, me up, look at her stuffed in the baby stroller!  She rode around the house 100 times this weekend in this stroller.

Around...and around the house they went!
Game time!  Yes, against my better judgment I put her in orange.  But she is pretty cute I think!  Robert's parents got her this when she was born and I remember it looking so big and thinking it would be forever until she fit in it...and that day has come.  :(
She is doing "spirit fingers" here!  Mama taught her this trick! :)

 Commercial break fun!

Well, this dress is a 12 month and she finally fits into it, sort of...I think she still can grow into it a while longer!
 Just relaxing.
So much happier without a bow!
The only way the bow would stay on is when Daddy held her hands. ;)

 High kick practicing!

 Wheeee!

 "Again, Daddy!"
Daddy had a good TV buddy for sure!
Back in comfy clothes! And back to her baby!

  Happy Baby!

It's funny, Maddie likes her baby to wear bows!

Trying on her new PJs...we have finally graduated to "12 month" in PJs!
Somebody did not want to take pictures...it was BEDTIME!
Sunday AM...back to it! Look at that cute little bed head!  She was actually really happy here, I just caught her at the end of a super cheese smile!

Well...sad to say this is our best picture this Sunday AM.  But she did great during Sunday school and church!

17 month stats:
Well, I just have her weight this month, we will get the full set in a month at her 18 month appointment.

Weight 20.4 lbs (24th %)
I am actually surprised she did not weight more that this, she has felt more solid recently.  She eats the house down though.  She is a good little eater, but she is so active I know that all of those calories are burned off faster than she can take them in!

She is wearing "12 month" clothes, and occasionally "9 month "stuff!  She is in a size 3 shoe and we just moved her up to a size 4 diaper.

I think her favorite food now is BROCCOLI!  She also loves cheese, grapes, meat, and Sour Patch Kids.  But to be honest, there is not much she doesn't like.  She really is a good little eater.  She also loves water!  She had her first taste of juice and loved it.

A few new tricks this month
"Spirit Fingers"
Point to your...(ears/eyes/mouth/nose/toes).  She already had belly button down!
"Shake off" (She dusts herself off after eating)
Throwing her diaper and other things in the trash upon command.
SIGNS:
"All done"
"Milk"
"Water"
(She has had "more"down for a while)
She hasn't started to run yet, though I don't think it will be long.  She has started spinning in a tight little circle recently.  She throws the ball over handed well, but we are still working on kicking a ball.
She will do the motions to "Itsy Bitsy Spider".
She still loves peek-a-boo and waving hello/goodbye.  She still loves her "Pat the Bunny" book; she knows this book by heart and follows all of its commands perfectly!
Unfortunately we haven't added many new words yet, we are working at that!!

Ok, that is a wrap, hard to believe at our next update baby girl will be 18 months!
