September is usually party-central around our family. We kick off the month with Kaimi's birthday, have mine mid-month, Mom's near the first day of fall and then end the month with Kaimi and Curt's Anniversary, whew, I am tired just typing all that!
I wish I could say that this month was full of confetti and cake, but 2016 has been a rough year all the way around for our family.
On August 30, just before midnight, we lost our sweet Granny. We knew that her time was nearing and prayed fervently for God to take away her pain...and He did, just not in the way that our selfish human minds had wanted. But, in time, we will thank God for "unanswered" prayers. For now, our wounds are still fresh. But, her wounds are no more, and she is dancing in Heaven as I type this with my our little Papa that we still miss here on Earth.
To add salt to our wound, Betty, Granny's sister died exactly one day later. They were the last of their siblings.
So the usual Labor Day weekend/birthday fest/Dove Hunt was anything but this year. But we did enjoy each other's company, as always.
On our way to the graveside. The kids did so well. It was like they all sensed that Nana was hurting. Each of them were taking turns just loving on her as she said good bye to her mama.
Oh, the cycle of life.
Ok, well, the boys did slip off for a little dove hunting. Can you find the only girl in the picture?!
And to make the already tiring weekend complete, little one fell on her head and we had to make a trip to the ER for a head CT when she was persistently solmnealnt.
Heaven knows, she never acts like this mid day when her cousins are in!
The head CT was negative, only a concussion. So we watched her closely and all has been ok. Though we have laid off of gymnastics a few weeks.
While our family mourned the loss of two sisters, I was oh so thankful for that day, for ti was also the day that He gave me one of the best gifts I have ever received, my own sister. God has His hand in all events. He is the true Alpha and Omega. His finger draws the true circle of life that we see.
On that weekend, I was painfully, yet joyfully reminded, and oh so thankful for the gift of family. There is no one I would have rather played dress up with in Granny's Closet...
Here's looking at a new year!
We had actually planned a while ago to take a vacation, yeah, I never got around to booking anything, so we ended up having a stay-cation and got lots done around the house that life's interruptions had kept us from doing.
Someone was excited to spend every day just "paying". Haha, the second this child wakes, she say, "Let's Pay!" (And no, that is not a typo, that is how she says it, how can I resist that request?!)
Oh you know,

Oh you know,
Cleaning our tile grout...
Don't worry, I helped, too (a little)

Look at the difference!
Ironing/Laundry/Hanging pictures that have sat on the floor since we moved in. Oh, how does life get so busy?!
We had good help let me tell you.
Still waiting on my canvases to arrive.
And a little trip on a safari (also known as our nearby Cabella's, which we do frequent)
I have no makeup on, we all have work out clothes on and we have the place just about all to ourselves early AM mid week...PERFECT!
I am actually typing this blog on our new office desk. I LOVE it!
I had my 35th birthday somewhere in here in the middle of the month. It was a good weekend. We did a whole lot of cudding and Daddy did some Honey-do's...what else could a girl want?!
Me and my sweet pea on my birthday.
My birthday flowers, they sure made my office smell good!
Ha, the office manager sent me these...let's just say that she knows that I have less than a green thumb, so these will do me well.
Here is a little Iphone dump...well, this girl is anything but a dump!
Look at this scary little shark!
Headed to get evaluated for speech, all turned out well and on track. We are going to work on our double consonants and follow up in 6 months.
Sunday Smiles.
First Haircut! Yes, I said first...and yes, the child is almost 3. Ha, with those curly-'s every millimeter of hair matters! As you can see, she was a little scared. She kept saying, "I don't want my hair to look like Daddy's!" Haha, silly girl.
And a Happy Birthday to our beloved Nana! We all love you more than words could ever describe and pray daily that God heals you. Until then, we will love on you and try to make you feel as special as you truly are. Here is to many healthy years ahead! You always have been the rock of our family.
Two girls that love her about as much as Kaimi and I do.
