Home Sweet Home with the Sedas: Happy 3 Months Our Baby Girl!

Our world has changed quite dramatically in the last three months...I have graduated surgery residency, we have left Iowa and moved back to a condo in Dallas, I have started my fellowship in Breast Surgical Oncology, and most importantly, we have continued to learn the intricacies of a little angel named Madelyn Grace. With each passing day, we realize that we fall more and more in love with her.

Madelyn's 3 Month Milestones

Grinning little Grabber -- Maddie has finally started to grab for things...as in just in the last couple of days. She has always been very aware and interested in her surroundings, but it took her a while to reach out for them!

Roly Poly-- Maddie is quite the little Roly Poly. Well, at least when we try and do tummy time that is. Tummy time has become somewhat less painful than it used to be (ie, she does not wail during it) but it still is not her favorite exercise of the day. She now has found a way to cheat the system, however. Anytime we set her up for tummy time, she rolls right over!

Sing-a-Song -- Madelyn loves to be sung to (poor thing, if only her little mama could sing!) Some of her favorite songs are "Jesus Loves Me," "This Little Light of Mine," "Hush Little Baby," "Jesus Loves the Little Childiren," "Itsy Bitsy Spider," and "You are My Sunshine." Whenever I sing to her, she grins from ear to ear...even when I get off key, talk about a sweet little audience! ;)

Happy Hands -- Girlfriend has now noticed her hands and feet...which she LOVES. The thing that I LOVE is when those dainty little fingers grasp my finger. Oh, I hope she always likes holding her mama's hand. It does make for a hard picture, because she loves putting those sweet little hands in her mouth, especially when we are trying to take a picture.

Sleeping Beauty -- She is now sleeping through the night...most nights. She will still have the occasional night where she wakes up once, maybe twice on a bad night, but for the most part she is really nice to mama and daddy!

Water Baby -- Maddie went to the swimming pool for the first time over July 4th weekend...and she loved it! It helped that she had a little swim buddy (Collin Bear), too!

Bumbo Baby -- We have just introduced her to the Bumbo. She likes it for a little while, but, she had much rather lay out flat on the floor...so we have more work to go on this!

Milk Monster -- As you will see by her stats below, she continues to grow like a little weed! She LOVES her milk. She now eats about 4 ounces each feed, which is up from last month when she ate about 3-3.5 ounces. She still eats about every 2 hours in the day time (thank goodness she does not do this during the night time any longer!)
