Weekend in Comanche

I had another good week in the OR, I am finally getting the hang of the "Baylor way."  It's so funny how you can do things a certain way for five years and come to a new place and have to learn a lot of things all over, ugh.  One day, in not too long now, I will finally be able to do things my way! ha
Mid week we got to break away to Rockwall to see our little Will play soccer, he scored 4 goals!  He clearly gets his athletic ability from our family ;)  He was absolutely adorable in his little outfit, too!  I cannot believe I didn't get any pictures, Curt got this one.  I'll have to do better next game at taking one of the star!
Will's cheering section, half of it atleast.
Ahhh, the joy of living close to home.  We were able to throw our stuff in the car after work on Friday and be home (albeit late) Friday night.  Maddie is ready to go...clearly, she made sure we didn't forget Sophie!

We didn't do much (well, the girls didn't at least)...the boys did lots of hunting!  Robert got his first deer with his bow, but unfortunately they couldn't find it (despite HOURS of following its blood tinged tracks).  All I have to say is thank goodness for the modern food industry. :)
Can you see Robert?!...That deer didn't either I guess!
Maddie did get to experience the high chair for the first time.  She loved it.  I had it in my mind she was too small for it...guess my baby is getting bigger than I care to realize. :(  Nothing like Saturday morning breakfast from sweet Nana!

 Yummy!

Sunday before church.  Getting ready with Nana, I actually got more than 15 minutes to get dressed this Sunday! :)  As you can see, Nana made sure baby girl had her weekend pallet, too.  We did LOTS of rolling around this weekend that is for sure!

I love the fall weather, and I think Maddie does, too.  You can tell she was feeling a little frisky in these pics! :)

This little girl LOVES her Nana and Papa, if you cannot tell!  She has started to show signs of having stranger anxiety...but not with these two that is for sure!  She even tries to leap out of my arms to go to them, ha!  Though I cannot say that I blame her, they are pretty sweet.

My little purple Princess...

Just a little sass...

Maddie did great in church...this is what she did most of the time, what?!  She NEVER sleeps for me.  There is something about that Nana of hers!   Ha, yes, I did take this during church...but I just couldn't resist!   I think God will forgive me this once. ;)
After church we had steaks on the grill.  Dad and Robert had worked hard for the weekend, so they felt like they had earned themselves a steak.  Maddie had homemade sweet potatoes.  It won't be long before she has some steak, too at the rate she is going!

Sunday night after getting home, I got a text from Ben Schlicher, one of the two guys who I went through residency with, saying that he and Allie had just gotten engaged!  We are so happy for them!  So, I guess we will all be headed back to Iowa in August of 2014, it will be good to see old friends!

When we got home today after work we had a little package waiting for us, thank goodness!  Ugh, I am such a bad mother, I almost waited too long to order a costume, so I was afraid we wouldn't get in time.  Truth be told, I wanted Maddie to be a little fairy and found the sweetest little costume on Etsy.  BUT since I waited too late it wasn't going to be ready in time, so a pink poodle we will be!  There's always next year for the fairy, right?
She looks like she doesn't mind the choice!
We will see how long the little head piece lasts on Halloween night.  I am bringing a bow, just in case! :)
Look at that little tail, ahh, melt my heart.  We will have to work on "Ruff Ruff" before Thursday!

Sweet Nothings...

After being gone several weekends in a row, laundry had reached an all-time high.  That Madelyn is a little thing, but girlfriend certainly makes up for size in laundry contribution!  So, this weekend was used to catch up on laundry...and on cuddle time!

This week started off good for Madelyn.  She has decided that Columbus is her favorite holiday of the year I'll bet!  Day care was closed Monday for Columbus Day, so Nana came up and watched Maddie for us.  Let's just say when we took her back on Tuesday, all guessed that she had seen a grandparent for the weekend! Ha!  We also just finished off leftovers that mom made that day!  Yummy!  I guess you are never to old to need be
babied."  The rest of the week was very typical.  Robert is getting into the swing of things at his work, thankfully he is now in the office and able to take and pick up Maddie at normal times.  (Last month we had to pay a lady at daycare to come sit with Maddie for an hour and then take her in to day care because we both left way before day care opened.)  I am working with one of the breast surgical oncologists this month and am loving it.  It can be stressful at times, but it is so rewarding.  I am reminded daily how strong women are, especially in difficult times.  I thank God daily for allowing me to pursue this dream, there is no doubt hat this is where He wanted me to be.

We had a little cold front this week, so we actually pulled out the sweaters one day, can you believe it!?  I laughed as we did...those temperatures would have been nothing this time last year in Iowa!
Interested in everything but the camera these days...
 Headed to day care!
Mid week we tried squash, Madelyn's first "real food"...besides rice cereal and oatmeal.  SHE LOVED IT.  We could not get it to her mouth fast enough!  But, unfortunately, she got a little rash on her face soon after eating it, so we took a little hiatus from it and will try it one more time this week to see if it was true allergy, hopefully not!
Saturday was this kind of day...
Madelyn did well today at church today.  She is definitely a little busy body, but she was a quiet busy body atleast, so I was able to hear "most" of the sermon today.

Where's Maddie?! Love my little wild child! Ha, you can see her shoe already off in the bottom left hand corner.  Yes, we are both constantly on the look out for missing shoes these days :)
Mama was in charge of lunch today...we ate at Red Lobster.  This is actually a picture of us looking at Robert through the glass at Red Lobster.  We got a little bored waiting on the ticket so we went out to enjoy the sun...Maddie saw her Daddy through the window in no time!
An attempt at a little photo shoot today before we went for a little stroll around the lake...let's just say baby girl was more interested in the grass than the camera today!

 I rest my case.

First taste of good ol' grass!

 Guess she wants seconds!
Yes, with so MANY things to look at outside I think I only got a couple where she was looking at me.  :)

Ahhh, love these two, off to the lake we go!
Somebody is excited!
It was a beautiful fall day, Madelyn was loving the sunshine!
Sad to say goodbye to our weekend pallet! :) Who ever knew that a tiny little room could house so many happy memories.
