Baby Girl is TWO!

I will never forget looking into those big black eyes for the first time, it seems like only yesterday.  After waiting 40 weeks on the dot, we met Madelyn Grace Seda at 7:06 AM on a beautiful Sunday morning.  Fitting, Sunday to welcome and angel from God.   It was a once-in-a-life time feeling.  I never believed in love at first site...until I saw her.  Perfect in every way in my eyes.  My heart had never been more full.

Here she is, so awake and alert.  I will never forget when the doctor first handed her to me, she was staring so intently into my eyes.  I could tell she was ready to meet me too!

How did we get from here...

 To here?!

Madelyn is as expected, a ball of fire!  She is sweet and sassy all wrapped up in a little package of dynamite.  Good or bad, I think she is going to be very competitive, I am not sure where she got that from?! haha

Here are some updates:

She is talking more, but still not as chatty as I thought she would be (so she must not have taken after her Mama!)  She is very good at identifying colors (Red/Green/Blue/Purple/Pink/Black/Yellow/Orange/Black)...she even signs them, shapes, animals, and a few numbers.  Last week I heard her laying in bed counting to 10! She was counting sheep I guess!  (It isn't a very clear count, but she is definitely saying the numbers!
Some of my favorites phrases:
"Sorry"(she says it in a way to truly melt your heart, and then of course she can get away with pretty much anything after saying it!)
"Love You," of course.
"Cheese" when cheesing it for the camera.
"OUTSIDE!"  This kid could live outside!
"I Do" -- ok, that is NOT one of my favorite. :)
She has a couple of songs she loves to sing, "You are My Sunshine" and "Twinkle, Twinkle."  Oh, melt my heart!

Favorite Toys, for the moment...
Bitty Baby! Maddie is very maternalistic, she takes very good care of all of her babies.
Books:
"Where the Wild Things Are", her favorite favorite
"Pinkalicious"
"Bitty Baby" Books
"Peppa Pig" book series
"Little Blue Truck"
Her swing set...Maddie LOVES to swing, and has gotten a little more courageous in terms of sliding, though she still wants adult supervision. ;)

She is pretty agile.  She is quick as a little cat when she runs, she can stand on one leg now, loves to dance, and we are working on "jumping".  She can take off her pants/sock/shoes.  We are working on the shirt.  Thankfully, she has not tried her diaper!
She also has very good dexterity.  She brushes her teeth, eats well with utensils, colors/writes.
Yes, and some mornings, we choose to eat breakfast on the floor...with a fork...and a straw.  :)

Maddie recently started to get interested in TV, well, at least ONE show...PEPPA PIG!  Her cousins introduced her to it and there is no turning back!  We limit her screen time to about 15 minutes, if that, per day, but let me tell you, those minutes are all PEPPA!

She loves to snack, she is a "grazer."  Now this she definitely got from her Mama and Nana!  She loves broccoli, Nana's mac and cheese, blackberries, grapes, CHEESE (still a favorite), sandwich meat and of course, CANDY.
Did I mention cheese?!

I wish I could say that she sleeps though the night, but, I have almost come to terms with the fact that my baby just wants some extra snuggle time and it happens to be anywhere from 1 am to 3 am in the morning.  We have tried to "let her cry it out" and like I said, she is a fireball, she does NOT back down!  So for now, we trudge ahead.  I would say she has given us a good 2 months of sleeping through the night in her last 2 years of life...hey, anything is better than nothing at this point.
BUT, when you look this adorable sleeping, who could get mad?

She likes Primrose, her daycare.  She is the Early Preschool class.  The teachers have told us that she is a little leader.  They also just shared that she is very focused and likes to/can do a lot of the activities on her own.  Ms. Isabel said that most children ask for help with one art project...but not our Maddie, she is focused and wants to do not one, but 4 on her own!
I know one thing, every time we pick her up she is right up in the teacher's lap or right in front of the teacher as she is reading!  Ha, maybe another word is brown-noser! :)
See, I really don't make things up...

She wears anything from an 18 month -24 months in clothing.  She is a size 4 diaper and a size 5 in shoes.  And let me tell you, my little fashionista LOVES her shoes.  Half the battle getting out of the door in the AM is picking out a pair of shoes....usually, I mean MOSTLY, we tend to disagree on which pair of shoes she will put on for the day.  I have learned that is one battle I am not going to fight.

She has her 2 year well check this upcoming Wednesday, I will try and remember to update her stats!

UPDATE from her appointment:
NO issues and most importantly...NO SHOTS!  Woohoo!
Somebody went on a growth spurt.  Who knows, we might just break 5 foot! ;)
HEIGHT:
WEIGHT:
HEAD CIRCUMFERENCE:

Here are some party pictures.  More to come in a separate post!
Combo party for our two  April babies!

Their Cakes.  I saw these on Pinterest and whipped them up.  Haha, just seeing if you were really reading!  But Kaimi did make the cookies!

Madelyn's Cake.
 Will's Cake.

The birthday babies!  They will always be our babies.  These two remind me so much of each other.  I think that is why Maddie LOVES her cousin Will so much!
Maddie wasn't much in the picture taking mood at this point ... we tried.  I guess the old song hold true..."It's my party and I'll cry if I want to"...and there was some of that!
But let this kiddo get on the swing set...and let the smiles appear!

Some of my favorites in the last two years.  To be honest, there would be hundreds, clearly I am biased, but I tried to pick my FAVORITE favorites!

She has filled our hearts with love and our lives with laughter.  We thank God daily for allowing us to watch over His angel.
