Arborteum 2016 and Some Life Lately

The morning started in Rockwall at the football stadium where we got to see Will in action on the field.  He had some good blocks, grabbed some flags, and showed some good hustle
Two of his biggest fans.

Speaking of hustle, we then headed to the soccer fields to see Katie-bell in action.  Talk about a go-getter!  She was all over the field hustling and even blocked a goal the other team was about to make as it was headed into the goal.

We then headed west to Dallas.  Curt said he sure misses that AM commute. ;)

The good ol' Arboretum.  An oasis in the metropolis we know as "Dallas".   Where the gardens are green, the flowers are blooming...and the children are ready for pictures!...ok, well maybe not the last part.  Let's just say in my head, I thought, the kids are older, it will be easier this year to snap a few picture then play.  Ha.

Headed in.

But I will say, this year I think due to the beautiful weather, it was much more crowded than I recall, so it really was hard to find a place to grab a picture.  So, we grabbed what we could, then decided to play on the pumpkins...and in the hay.

My sweet little King of the Mountain!
 And Princesses!

Well, I am not sure we got one with all 4 smiling.  So, maybe I'll show a few with at least the majority.

My phrases of the day "Maddie, put your dress down!" Maddie, don't show the world your panties!"  She usually doesn't do that, but man, give her a twirl-y dress AND pockets and I guess it becomes hard to resist.
Picking out a pumpkin...with some help from Collin.
Or cleaning it with a new dress, either one.

   So proud of her pumpkin.

Yes, "Maddie, please put your dress down."  Realizing she was without her cousins at this point.

 Another little cutie.

I think was our best one of the day for Maddie.
Yep, just rolling in the hay.

 Our little curl-y cuties.
One more attempt for smiles x 4, at once.
This year we did not even make it to the Princess Carriage, see the people behind, that was the line.
So we decided to rest on the hay to then make the journey to the children's gardens.  We stopped along the way from some smoothies.  Uncle Robert learned that when you have 4 kids, the idea that you could buy two and share may not be the best idea of the year.

 Our Family.

  The Covington Crew.

Into the wild of the pumpkin patch.
Robert loves the Arboretum, about as much as Papa and Will.
Wait, where's that Papa?!
 Ok that's better.
Hey kids, take a look at your Mamas, now that's how you smile for a picture quick.
How I love this girl, always have, always will.
Now that was a good one!

Then we headed to the Children's part of the arboretum...where we did not take any cameras/pictures!  The girls loved a little part with a house/lily pads and a garden maze.  I liked that part, until I realized FROGS were near the lily pads, then I began to look for the nearest exit. Will and Collin loved a water part with the science of solar power.

Best part, Mi Cocina's queso dip and chips that awaited us after.  We just beat the Texas/OU crowd from the game, so it turned out perfect.  The waiter asked us when we sat down if we needed something strong to drink, ha, I guess we had a look about us at that point!

We missed dear Nana and Papa this year, Nana was under the weather with bronchitis.

I love the Arboretum, it really is beautiful, but next year we may look for one a little less crowded with some smores/apple cider and/or hay rides!  Hear that Papa, Robert, and Will...SMORES!

Life Lately.

When little miss wakes about as early as I do and I need to work, but decide I don't want her to be the first there for the day.  So we improvise and Maddie "works" while I do!  Talk about good company.
I can always hear the door open, then I see this within about 1.2 seconds.
Mad, that she was left "all by myself in bed"!
But then happy when she can work along with me!

Culture day at school.  I was thankful her Abuelita and Abuelita had gotten this for her while in Puerto Rico, I had let this day slip up on me!
 Ranger day at school!
This is what she does when I say "Look at Mama"  she is trying to look around my camera at me, ha.
We were informed this week that she wanted to be a witch for Halloween.  Boo, I had other plans.
A witch it will be I guess.
