Madelyn Grace.

Where do I start?  I find myself wondering how I got so lucky to be her mother, truly.  This child is just what I never knew I needed and prayed for all in one.

She is a fiery spirit, yet a kind soul.  She is a very deep thinker and a very thoughtful little child.

She a little firecracker.  She runs to do anything, you name it.  If she goes to the pantry it will be a sprint.  We see it on the field and at home.  (I must say I beam with pride on that one, how I love me a hustler)

She loves being loved...and loves loving. We are never short on "I Love You's" here.  We frequently get love notes from her, and now she even makes I love you books for us (you know pages and pages of love notes). She loves this family of ours...all of us.  Her prayers are often long praying for all those she loves.  She is Switerzerland.  She NEVER claims a favorite, in anything.

I also can tell that she will be very time conscious and a rule follower.  She is also a child that a hard look or tone makes her crumble as much as a harsh hand.

She is very detail oriented.  She wants her hair...clothes...crafts...you name it a certain way.  I am paying for the years of redo hairdos I made my Mama do, heaven knows I am paying those back one by one.  Let's just say this girl like slick low pony tails.  And when you have curly hair in Texas, its hard to make EVERY one lay down perfectly!

She is head strong for sure.  I have no idea where she got that.  And we will leave it at that.

She has a memory like an elephant and ears like a bat.  If you tell her something you better plan on it, she will call you out on it.  If you whisper in the next room she will ask for clarity on the story.

She loves PLAYING.  She still loves playing teacher and family.  Her favorite games are "All" haha, and that is truth.

She is very, very CUDDLY.  At home, you will not find us more than an inch apart.  She loves holding hands, pretty much wherever we go.  And when we sit on the couch, you will often find her stroking your arm or petting your head.  She loves weekend "family naps."  Ahhh, I literally bask in the light this child brings our lives.  Yes, I still put her to bed.  At age 5 she told me that when she turned 6 she would be able to go to bed on her own.  Well, when that night came I was told it would be 18.  I didn't complain.

This year we have tackled swimming and she is coming along.  But we still have work to do!  We have mastered the fear of going under water at least. She made huge improvements with a one week course with Coach Kaleb.  We have another coming up to fine tune.  Hopefully with that one and a vacation the week to follow we will seal the deal on swimming.

She is also becoming quite the little reader and is very good at math.  She loves school and is a pleaser in the classroom.  Nana has been working hard with her after school and I can tell it has helped.  It takes a village...

She loves being active.  She loves softball (Thank you Lord).  She also loves riding her razor and flat out anything that allows to be together outside.  She now loves "exercising" with me and as soon as she wakes on the weekend asks "Did you work out without me?!" She has recently become interested in what is "healthy" to eat.  We still need to master riding a bike with no training wheels.

Most of all, I see her growing in her faith.  We pray together each night and I hear her talk to God and I hear her pour that sweet heart out to Him.  She loves reading her bible.  We have read though so many little bibles.  Now, she has her own to read.  How I love hearing her read God's word.  Her favorite bible story is "Adam and Eve".

Getting her clothes laid out for her birthday party...last night as a 5 year old!

Good morning our 6 year old!

Birthday Party READY!
We had her birthday party at Sunshine Glaze in Grapevine, a pottery place.  They all got to paint pottery!

So proud of her hair do.  Speaking of, Madelyn is VERY picky with how her hair is everyday...I hear she comes by this honestly ;)

Waiting on Ryley to get there to head to the party.

We will call Kate the tooth whisperer.

The party continued outside with balloons.

Sunday Smiles with our big 6 year old.

Yes, we coordinated, I'm going to cherish my years of this.

This is Madelyn...such a happy little soul.

Titi Christie could not come for the party, but she came and hang out and  baked cookies with the birthday girl.  You know we celebrated all week for this little one!

Daddy had a work trip, so it was girl time!
School Field Trip!
