This and That

Another week has come and gone, where does the time go?  I cannot believe we are almost into September!  At least it will start to cool down soon.  Ha, it is funny, this girl used to thrive in the heat and welcome the rays of the sun, but that all changes when you have a little one who has sweet little skin you want to protect. :)  I think she will really enjoy the fall weather, I plan to take her out as much as possible!
Speaking of Texas heat, Robert had a hard week, poor thing. He has been working out on the field learning the nuts and bolts of the trade before he starts managing things...let's just say he has a new appreciation for his desk job!
Friday night we went to North Park and got me an early birthday gift!  I got a pair of Ray Ban sunglasses which I have wanted for a long time.  I tend to do that...want something, ponder on it for a while, sometimes even years, and then finally, when I am absolutely sure...I then take the plunge.  I love them.  Here they are! (Please excuse the hair, Maddie and I had just rocking)
My little eyelet sweetheart.  She's a mover and a shaker as you can see...

After a long week, we like to wake up early around here and drink our coffee.  Yes, it is true, I have picked up with coffee again.  I haven't had coffee since my third year of medical school!  Well, by picked up with again, I mean drinking half a cup on Saturday mornings...but it is growing on me!  However, as you can see, little one has started to make that a difficult task, she wants to try some!  So to be safe, we might have to convert to iced coffee in the future!

Since I passed my qualifying exam, I am now eligible to take the oral exam...the only caveat is I have to have a permanent license to officially sign up.  As a fellow, I only have a temporary license, so I have now started the arduous process of getting a Texas permanent license.  Yes, in the last few days I went on a huge shopping spree...and not in a good way.  Thousands, literally, have gone into signing up for exams and licenses!  Ugh, if it's not one thing it's another sometimes.  I also get to take yet another exam in the process...a jurisprudence exam!  Yikes!  I could be in trouble :/  Well, if need be, I may have to call some private tutors I know!
Going through my desk stuff as I was trying to accrue paperwork for my application, I saw these...oh, how it seems like yesterday.
Madelyn's first "day" of daycare.  This is the day that Robert flew into Dallas to interview for his current job and, at this point, I was already back to work.  Made my heart hurt, she was the first there and the last to leave. :(  But it looks like it hurt me more than her...turns out baby girl "liked watching the big kids."

And I also found these, ha, my very own "Maddie instructions."
Then I upgraded to a typed up form. :)
On Saturday night we met Kaimi, Curt and the kids for dinner at Primo's.  That Robert got another birthday dinner, lucky guy!  He got a very special card from his little buddy, Will.  We have it hanging on the fridge on display, next to Will's welcome home card for Maddie.
He also got some of Kaimi's special cake balls.  Yep, he has gone through a good portion of them already!
I  forgot to get a picture of the cousins in front of the sign "Primos"!  Oh well, guess we will have to go back!
Dos Primos...
We then went to Bass Pro to look around.  I don't know who has a better time at Bass Pro, Robert...or Will!  So I think we are officially done celebrating Robert, now on to the Escobar girls!  September is our month!  We lead off the month with Kaimi, then me, then mom...
Poor Nana was sick this weekend so we had to cancel a planned trip home.  We missed them, but will make up for lost times next weekend, just in time to celebrate Kami's birthday and opening day of dove season for the boys! Get better Nana, we love you!

Bath time before the week...love these curls!
 New meaning to "Maddie Moo!"
 Leaving on a happy note...and a happy face. :)

Cousin Field Trip!

We had our first cousin field trip this week...to no other than the Dallas World Aquarium in downtown Dallas.  The kids really enjoyed it and everyone did great (no crying babies in our group)!

Pictures are courtesy of Kaimi and Curt...I actually asked if I could just Control + C her blog...we tend to think alike! :) So, if this looks similar to her blog, I guess the old saying is true, "Imitation is the greatest compliment!"

Here is Maddie before we head out the door, so excited, no day care today!

Waterfall picture.  It's hard to get a group picture with strollers included!  But we both will miss the days when they are not needed.
So many things to see!
Will was our tour guide!  I'd follow that sweet little guide anywhere!
Cutest little flamingo I have ever seen right there!

Maddie LOVED the aquarium!  I was afraid she was too young to enjoy it, but she proved me wrong!  She slept on the way to the aquarium so she was bright eyed and bushy tailed by the time we got there...if you cannot tell by this picture!
Sweet Cousins.

Sweet Covingtons...wait, I think we did a switch-a-roo for this one!  Maddie just pushed little Katie out of the pic I guess! Actually, Katie was helping me take the pic ;)
My personal favorite exhibit...the SHARKS!  I think everyone agreed.  It is hard to look at the camera with sharks everywhere!
 Even for Curt. :)

Talk about a close up view!

I think Katie caught this Great White's eye!
Haha, this is how Maddie looked the whole morning...girlfriend was wiped out when we left!  Collin looks like he was cool, calm Collin here...sharks don't scare that tough boy!

 Focus Maddie!

Sweet Babies.

Sweet Aunt K.
 With our babies...
Making a shark penny!
Finishing off with the flamingos!  Of course, Kaimi is that little mama that thinks ahead about putting this sweet little flamingo outfit on Katie!  Where's Katie-bell?
 More flamingos?!
This boy comes by this honestly, this is how his mama, nana, and Aunt Nan tend to stand, too. :)
It was a fun day, sad to leave.  Next time, the zoo...those lions, tigers, and bears better beware!
Bye-Bye!
