Christmas 2013

Christmas Time's a Coming...

The month of December was busy as usual around this time of year.  But we found the time to see Santa...see my 8 month post for that endeavor, put up or Christmas tree, send out Christmas cards, and even make a couple of trips to see Nana and Papa.  Somebody, even managed to use all of his deer tags for the year!  (see below)
Maddie dressed and ready for school...showing some Christmas spirit!

We went to Comanche the weekend before Christmas and helped Nana wrap her Christmas presents.  Baby girl was a great little helper!...ok, maybe not, but she sure did love all the pretty packages!

"Somebunny" found one of her Christmas gifts early!
 She loved it!

 Ha, poor bunny!
 Once we got home...more wrapping!

Yes, I wish our baby always looked like the child above, but as you can see, we have our fair share of these faces, too!
 And these...
And that is when her mama is THANKFUL for these...
Headed out to do some last minute shopping.
Getting a little practice for the big day!
Leg warmers never looked so cute.

One of my favorite times of the year is Christmas because you get all sorts of cards in the mail.  Seeing everyone's little families just brighten my day.
 Our cards for the year...

 Mom and Dad's card.
 Curt and Kaimi's card.

Robert moved up this year, he got an 11 point this go around.  He also got three doe and a hog..and a "partridge in a pear tree"...or a pigeon, sometimes that boy will take anything! :)

I told Robert he owed my dad a pick up washing after their excursions!

FINALLY, Christmas arrived!  It was a very Merry Christmas this year...so much to be thankful for!  We celebrated Christmas this year in Rockwall at Curt and Kaimi's house.  They have a big home, and we filled it to the brim with family, food (lots of food), Christmas music, presents, and of course, lots of babies' giggles!

The festivities began with a candlelight service...a celebration of the true reason for this season.
 Our presents under the tree...
 Sweet kisses.
Prettiest little ornaments I ever saw!

The smile to light up a room.
Looks like a snow angel to me!
 Our sweet Collin bear.
 Curt's mini me!

After the service, it was time to eat!  Kaimi made a delicious chicken pot pie for us...time to break into the comfy clothes after that meal!  It was to bed for the babies, but not before leaving cookies out for Santa!
Santa is lucky that Nana is such a good candy maker!
The boys had a little pre-bedtime game of some sort, notice the high cash at stake (borrowed from Will and Kate's grocery store money).  We girls were putting the finishing touches on Christmas breakfast and stuffing those stockings!
I think I see a little Elf in the bottom of the picture! ;)
And finally, after the long wait...Christmas morning arrived!
Yes, my baby sleeps and wakes with a bow in her hair ;)  I think girlfriend was the first to wake...
Will was a close second...waiting on brother and sister to wake!
And so begins the Christmas collage, in no particular order...
With this many little ones opening, it is each man for himself! haha
How I adore my little Candy Cane.

 Who turned the lights out?!

 Too adorable for words.
Ha, girlfriend hated the hat, until Collin put it on!
Katie got her own makeup kit...this kept her busy for hours!  Such a girl-y girl!  But I do love how she has her purple Nerf gun right beside her makeup!
So much to play with, hard to decide!
 Love the form Nana!
 Time to reapply!

Yes, with two boys, Kaimi now gets excited about Nerf refills!
Santa was good to us this year!

Will's first real gun, the "Cricket".  He LOVED it.  They went to day after Christmas to practice shooting it.  I heard he lived up to his name, "Sure Shot Will"!

These stackable cups kept Bear busy!  I think I might have to invest in some!
Gun check, Camo jacket check, big boy...check!
 Collin got his own puppy...

 ...and so did Maddie!

Loving our comfy PJs that Nana got us, move over Victoria Secret models, haha!

 Look at those shoes!
For when I cook...one of these days.

 Somebody was possuming!
 "So this is Christmas?!"

Somebody is excited about his stocking stuffers!
 Sweet Daddy.
Watch out Nana, somebody is getting into your makeup!
 Our little hostess.

Time for a break from presents...it's BREAKFAST TIME!

Dad was tired of pictures I guess! haha
The adults opened their gifts after breakfast.
Mom opening the stackable rings she had been eyeing all year...

Papa is all set in the clothes department for the year!
Robert finally got some ostrich boots like dads!
Of course we had lots of little helpers to open!
A planner for one busy little mama...let's plan to do this again next year! ;)
 Katie wanted to help, too!

...and Maddie soon jumped right in!
Hmmm, I think I liked my makeup as much as Katie did hers!
Maddie loves her cousin Will.  He makes her just light up.  Here he is showing her how to play with her new toy...
And here she is showing her Daddy what she learned!
I think we have a future doctor...or veterinarian in the family!

 Target practice.
Ha, I found this from last year...I think I liked it as much as Maddie did!
Look at that form...was he working with Nana earlier? ;)

Whew!  With a busy morning, it was time for a nap.  I snapped this picture of my two napping buddies in their prime!
Up and Adam, lots of toys to put together!  And they wondered why the basketball goal took a while to put together!

Swing time!  This was Maddie's first time to swing.  (Poor baby, I should be ashamed of myself!)  She LOVED it!

These pictures are included courtesy of Will...pretty good for a 3 year old!  (NO, these are not selfies!)

Finally got the double swing up and running...look at them go!

And I'll end on that happy face.  It was  a Christmas to remember for sure...mainly because of lots of smiles just like this one.
