Our Sweetheart

Well, I didn't get around to doing a post last week for Valentine's day, but we sure did enjoy the day!  It was a day celebrating the little love of our life.  I know I already posted these last week, but, I just cannot get enough of my Valentine's Sweetheart in her sweet heart dress.  Thank you Nana and Papa for it!

My heart melts with this face.  Thank you, God, for this angel you have given us.
Girlfriend all decked out for Valentine's Day at daycare.  Her mommy almost forgot that we needed to do Valentine's day treats for friends.  Oh, I worry about myself sometimes!  How could I possibly have forgotten how important class parties are!?  I remember planning the treats we were going to take our friends for weeks.  We had a little mama that would help us put together "custom" favors.  Thank goodness I have a few years to practice before Maddie has her say in the matter, something tells me I am not going to get away with dashing to Target the day before and grabbing what is left in the candy aisle! :)
Our Valentines Day card from Maddie, isn't she sweet ;)
Opening V-Day gifts...yes, I realize she is STILL sporting Christmas PJs! haha  Yes, I am totally up for mom of the year!
More interested in the tissue paper...
Too much sweetness going on here.
Finally, some new jammies!  These are not holiday specific, so we are good for a while.  That Nana and Papa spoil us!  She also got a new library of books from them.  We have read all of them dozens of times already.  This kiddo LOVES her books.  She definitely has her favorites, which for the time being are the flip books that allow her to be interactive.
She loves her puppy!  We are still trying to come up with a name.  We catch ourselves calling her "Puppy".  But, we realize this is cousin Will's name for his puppy...so we will have to keep thinking!
She is constantly loving on her...I think because she is so so soft.

This bear is from Maddie's Abuelita and Abuelito.  Looks like someone approves!

Saturday we went on a little date at one of our favorite spots...Mi Cocina.  Oh, breaks my heart, she is now big enough for a high chair.  :(  She did great.  We went mid day so we were one of only a few there, it was perfect!
She could not take her eyes off the hostesses, so this is about the only view I got!

 Me and my Valentine...

Fast Forward a week.  It was a typical work week...work all day, come home, play a couple of hours with our baby girl, then once she is off to sleep, both of us do some "homework".  Do we ever get to old for that?!
Then, we all look forward to the weekend...where we all get to sleep in.  Wait a minute, scratch that!  Girlfriend doesn't like to sleep past 5-5:30, so we get in a few extra hours of early morning play time!  Here she is watching "Baby Can Read".  She loves this movie!
Uh oh, somebody is already getting sleepy!
This smile, oh this smile.  This is why I gladly wake at 0130 to feed her, why we wake at 0530 on our Saturday mornings off, and why her Daddy bounces her until his thighs cannot stand one more bounce...
 We are completely smitten.
After a cold winter, God gave us a Satuday in the 70's!  We took advantage of it and headed to the lake!  Here she is, first time in the stroller like a big girl...I think she is still trying to test out the new view...
On our walk, we found one thing that Madelyn likes just as much as kids...DOGS!  Every time we passed one on the lake trail she would smile ear to ear, and wave to them.  But, the only dog she is getting is the little puppy seen above!  Girlfriend is about all we can handle!
The wind was a little strong...you can tell by her bow! :)

 Loving the sun!
...or loving the piggy back ride, you be the judge...

If only I could attach the sweet giggle that came with this one!
 One more time, Daddy!
A little grocery shopping at Sam's, no body is going to get her mangos!

I don't have any pictures from church today.  We had a guest speaker today and had a combined service so we were out the door earlier.  I had planned on getting on once we got home, but girlfriend had plans for a nap instead...
I guess I did, too ;)  Sunday afternoon naps just got a little sweeter!
Another weekend has come and gone.  But, one is thing is for sure, we never take our family time for granted.

10 Months Old

I remember seeing my little Madelyn Grace for the very first time...and quickly counting 10 little fingers and 10 little toes.  How am already counting ten whole months?!

You saw in my last post how we spent a majority of this month unfortunately.  But in the last week we have seen our little go-getter return!

10 Month Milestones

Catch up! -- Maddie has lost some weight with her illness, so as you will see below, she has dropped in percentile for weight, but she has really picked up her eating, so stay tuned!  She also feels a LOT better so she is EVERYWHERE.  So it may be a little bit before she can eat enough to stay ahead of all the calories she burns moving.  She loves those Gerber on the Go treats that Collin Bear introduced us to.  Look at her go!

She also LOVES mangos (ha, I knew she was my child!)...and cheese puffs (these are NOT my favorite, every time she eats them she smells just like a little cheese puff!).

For now, she is still in the same size clothes and diapers she has been in the last few posts (6 and 6-9 month clothes and size 3 diapers).

Play time!  --  Maddie loves to play.  Some of her favorites are seen below and include her "rabbit" in the box, her box of shapes, straws, her talking walker, and her baby doll.

Her fine motor skills have always been pretty good if I don't say so myself.  I think she took after me here, haha!  But seriously, she has gotten really good at grasping even the smallest things.  I mean to tell you, if there is a speck of glitter on the floor that girl will find it!  She also LOVES books.  She has a few favorites for the moment.  Her top two are the "Baby Can Read" flip book and Peekaboo Sophie.  This weekend, she saw her Peekaboo Sophie book on the shelf and went and got it for me!  I'll bet we read those two books ten times a day!  Her favorite place to play is in our laps, ha.  She likes an audience that is for sure.  The second she realizes she is not being watched she makes a bee line for one of our laps to ensure she has our UNDIVIDED attention.

I rest my case...
Story time with Daddy.

Oldies but goodies.  Look at what girlfriend found!  She never cared much for a pacifier and hasn't used one since she was about 3 months old.  BUT, it was the new toy on this day!  Ahhh, makes her look more like a baby, maybe I'll let her play with it more often ;)

She also loves to be "tossed" in the air.  I know she HAS to get this from her Daddy since I have had to stop riding rides at Six Flags once I grew over 36 inches tall because there were no more rides I was brave enough to ride! I have lots of videos of this, if only I get my videos to upload here!  One day I'll figure it out and do an entire blog about videos from the year.

Sweetie-Pie --  As if her little waves and claps did not already melt my heart...this month she will now give us kisses on command.  They are good juicy kisses, too!

Social Butterfly -- Madelyn is infatuated with children, of all ages.  No matter where we are, if she sees children, she is mesmerized.  This is about the ONLY time that this girl will sit still.

Temper Tantrums?! -- What?  How could my little angel already be throwing temper tantrums?!  But I am sure that is what these are...

Yep, anytime we take away something she wants (a mango, a toy, any light cord) we get these little fits.  Oh, and so it begins... But, I will admit, this face is still pretty cute! :)

Bubble time Baby -- Madelyn loves bath time, but only if the water is just right...nice and warm.  She is such a little delight to bathe, she just lies in the tub and enjoys the water.  And I love the smell of a clean little baby!

10 Month Photo Shoot

The "birthday" girl on Friday before heading out to day care...
EVERYTHING is interesting to this child!
Ok, I must admit, this smile melts my heart, EVERY SINGLE TIME.

One happy camper, this girl loves her little Daddy.

Nana and Papa got Maddie this sweet little dress for Valentine's day...does it shock you that it is smocked?! ;)  I can think of no better dress for my sweetheart than this dress.
 Feathers get her every time!
 My sweetheart.

How can we go from this...
...to this.
Remember what I was saying about tantrums?...we tried to take away her lovey here :)
Yes, more pictures...but it has been so long since she felt like taking pictures we may have gone a little over board today :)

 On the move!
This is a look I frequently see, aren't I lucky?!  The second she sees that we are away from her, she makes a bee line for us!
 Playing with Daddy!

 My TWO Valentines this year!
This child has no idea how much she is loved.
One of her favorite games to play with her Daddy.  It is so cute, she growls as she tries to put things in his mouth. :)
  And she's off again...
 Book time!

(I know, I know, but I don't think she looks THAT small...but no worries, I am watching her like a hawk.)  Poor baby, she has experienced the joys of being a doctor's baby this past month.  She has had her temperature checked (the real way), her lungs auscultated, and her ears examined more than most babies have their first year.
