March 2017

Every year March starts off special...it's the day NINE years ago I officially became a Seda.
Just look at those babies.
March 1, 2008.
It was a beautiful sunny day in Comanche, Texas.

Wow, how is that even possible?...Am I old enough to be approaching a decade of marriage?!  Well, by looking at that picture, I think know, I definitely have a few more wrinkles and lot more grey hair than I did almost a decade ago.

Nine years.
I won't say that we have not seen the storms of life in those 9 years. But, with God as the rudder, we have been able to overcome some fierce waves and sail on to beautiful waters.  I know one thing, there is no one I had rather share the journey of life with.

Oh, my Robert.

He loves the outdoors, and will kill just about any critter that crosses his path while there.
He loves BIG trucks.
...Texas size steaks.
...sunny days in the park.

And of course the Cowboys, no not the Dallas Cowboys (though he likes them, too)...the OSU Cowboys.

But, most of all, I think he loves these two girls right here.
He would do anything for us...and he shows us that daily.
We don't have many pictures of just us two, mainly because we see ourselves as three peas in a pod.
There is no doubt that one of the best things we got from our marriage was our Madelyn Grace.  I truly look at her in awe on a daily basis and wonder how I was lucky enough to get that girl.
I did manage to scour the 1000s of pictures (literally) from my blog and find a few though.
Our marriage is always very serious, clearly.
Ha, I knew I would find some at the Arboretum, the time of year when our child likes to disown us in pictures.  :)
Celebrating our anniversary in 2015.  I wish I had pictures from there this anniversary.  But I am planning to find a beach somewhere for next year the big 1-0.  I saw a picture yesterday from Bora Bora.  A girl can dream, right?!
Our anniversary several years back.
This year.
We went out to eat at Trulucks.  I think the best steak I have ever eaten. But my favorite was the company.  Yep, we cleared this plate!

Every girl dreams of a man that can sweep her off her feet, you know, just like her Daddy.
Look familiar?  I found mine.
I actually was out of town on March 1 this year.  Mom and I flew to New York for a doctor's visit.  But of course Robert understood.  That is life.   That is one of the things I love about him most.
It was a hard trip, literally under 24 hours there.  My mom has not been feeling well, so navigating through an airport, much less New York was hard on this 35-year-old, so you can imagine how it was for someone as sick as mom has been.
But, we made it, with God's grace.
I must say, I went to New York when I was in my late teens and thought it was a dirty city and really did not care to go back.  Recently, due to my love for the Today show I thought I may want to give it a second chance.  Yeah, I think I'm content watching Savannah and Matt in the comfort of my PJs, coffee in hand.  Let's just say if I never go that filthy place again in my life that would be ok with me!!

We got in late, the next morning when Maddie saw Nana literally she hugged her for 5 minutes.  I know that was just he medicine that Nana needed.

God always has a plan.  I often think of the analogy of the tapestry of life.   Sometimes as humans we get caught up in the daily hardships and can only see the back side, the messy, tangled threads of life.  But, if only we would trust in God, who sees the beautiful masterpiece on the other side.
Right now, with Mom, I daily pray for her health.  This week I will admit my faith dipped.  Was God not hearing my prayers?   But, I thought of Peter, Jesus telling him "Oh you of little faith".  I often wonder how many times he tells me that.  My God is the God who can heal all.  I know he the is the God who can see final masterpiece for His glory.

Nana rested and slept a lot while Papa played with Maddie and worked that Friday we got back.  By Saturday Nana felt "slightly" better so we got ready to go to Heath to watch Will play ball and to go to Baby Covington's baby shower!
Nothing is better than Doritos at a basketball game.  It won't be long before my Bear is out there, too!

Those girls had their giggle boxes on...all day long.
After a hard game, sometimes snuggles with Papa help recoup the muscles.
Hey, when you have 3 kids, one on the way and a dog, sometimes you need a little R & R, too!
These kids sure know how to try and make Nana feel better.

 Like I said...Giggle boxes ON.
Sunday was a dreary day, but nothing can dull the sunshine of a new baby coming in the horizon.  We worked on names...but that is still to be decided.
We did get to work on getting his nursery together.  He officially has a room of his own!
The girls...and one sweet spiderman about to head to the shower.
Spiderman decided to hold down the fort with the boys.
Headed in, who needs the sun when you have smiles this big?
I told Maddie, you need to walk, Nana doesn't feel good.  The second she thinks I am out of sight, I see this.
I am not sure that Maddie is going to like NOT being the baby grand baby soon.  She better enjoy her last few months!

A little Life Lately.

Yep, talk about the good life.
Hair washed, nails and toenails done, Shopkins PJs on, watching your favorite show.
All for a Wednesday night.

 School Shots.

On this day someone decided they were going to be "siddy" so this is the best I got.
BUT, look what Maddie came home with...can we say teacher's pet?  Maddie moved up to a new class this week.  She LOVED Ms. Green but adores Ms. Dana and Ms. Allen.  I mean, who would love the teacher who would braid your hair?
Every day she comes home doing something new.  Oh, to have her sponge of a brain again!

She was soooo proud of it.

Yes, Maddie, let MAKE IT COUNT!

I just love this collage.  I recall getting these pictures from Robert on a Monday as I was waiting for my first case of the day to start.  I can think of no better way to start off a work week!
 Silly sock day at school

Mama's favorite...PJ day!  What was supposed to be a quick day to get ready ended up being longer than average.  We picked out her PJs the night before.  But who knew that choosing the pants that went underneath would be such an endeavor!!
Notice what I scored from cleaning out Kaimi's guest bedroom making room for the little one...
I got that medallion for Kaimi and Curt as bridal shower gift I think! :)  Ha, the circle of life.

 Some random phone pictures.

We play "fam-ily" every single day.
Maddie is going to be one good hostess one day let me tell you.  I need to take a lesson or two.
This girl knows what she wants and certainly knows how to navigate her room!

Maddie wanted to write Nana a letter.  She did it all by herself, she was so proud.  Well, I helped spell, but the writing was hers alone.
This girl loves to write.  She will write for minutes (ha, this a long time in toddler time)
She comes by it honestly.  I still remember asking for letter books to learn how to write different fonts and calligraphy!
Her new teacher stopped me this week and could not get over how Maddie was writing...it comes with LOTS of practice.  Maybe she will like piano that much!  Hmmm, hopefully her music skills do NOT come from me.

Enjoying some frozen yogurt, that healthy right?

Speaking of babies.
Here is a little update on Snowflake.  That dog has gained 8 pounds since coming to live with us (yes only three weeks).
She loves not having to fight her siblings for food I think.  And she loves me...I'm the Queen of good dog treats.
Yes so Maddie and Snowflake started out the same weight, 32 lbs.
Maddie has actually finally gotten off 32 pounds, she weighed 33 pounds the day we weighed...but Snowflake jumped to 40.
She may be going to be a big dog, but she is all baby at heart.  She LOVES it when Robert holds her like this.  She just lays her head back and closes her little eyes, it is so funny.
You be the judge, I think the sack of taters on the right is bigger!

After a long week last week, that trip was stressful, this weekend we are going to lay around the house.  I call these my golden weekends.  The cleaning ladies came, so the house is done and the lawn got mowed!  Ahhh, now we just need to wash our little white puppy!

I saw this and thought it was perfect for me.

Can I get an Amen!
I would love to say this was my concoction one AM at 6am, but I sure enjoy it at 6pm that night!
