A little Life Lately -- May/June 2017 edition

A whole lot of yard work is what we have been filling our weekend with at the Sedas...or should I saw a lot of sweat equity!  We thought we would have some landscaping done this year and got a couple of quotes.  Once we heard them, we quickly decided that maybe we could do it ourselves!

Picking out the flowers is the fun part for sure.  Uprooting the dead shrubs and digging holes, not so much!
Feeding the fish while we picked out flowers was a bonus.

My sidekick in life .
Whew, front done.  A lot of work was done  here and you cannot tell, ha.  Hopefully next year the shrubs will be more full!

 Maddie loves watering the flowers.
We will see if this little gadget keeps the mosquitos away this year!
After we finished one Sunday I made me a little Salty Dog.
Guess how much of it I got?!
And so it begins, this kid has my taste buds for sure.

A little patio dancing to James Taylor.  I am determined I am going to give her my taste in music as well!
 Sunday strolls.

Phase 2:  The back yard.  We have 5 beds planned, we have knocked out 2.

Doesn't everyone do yard work in a night gown and rain boots?

Robert chose this bed all on his own one day while I was at work.  It is is humming bird/butterfly attractant he says.  We will see.

The other beds I had a little more hand in choosing!
These are supposed to get bigger/fuller and be yellow/red.

Some Mondays we all feel like this...
And some mornings I have a little mouse that sneaks in the office to work along side of me.

Some School Shots

A little late night treat on the patio.  We are Bluebell supporters here.

A little breakfast at home always gets a thumbs up!
And so does PJ day!

Christie had knee surgery this past Monday, she and Cruz have spent the week at our house so Maddie got to go in a little late and get picked up early from Primrose.
Can I get an Amen for the first week of summer?!...and for summer traffic for Mama!
Splash Days at Primrose are now in effect!

Sunday Fundays

Family Shennanigans.

A little ride with Abuelita and Abuelito when they came down.

This and That....
Because what else do you say about wearing a witch costume in May?
Hmmm, we love limes don't we little witch?
Doing a little grocery shopping, we have such good help.
Maddie was so excited when she got a this in the mail.  She said "Will and Collin and Grant are so handsome...and Katie is so pretty!"  Yes they are baby girl!
And how could I forget BIRTHDAY PARTIES!
I think we have a lot of friends that have spring/summer birthdays because we seem to go the year with none...then bam, we are going to two in a day some weekends!

At Ali's 4th birthday at the Horse Farm.
A party is not a party without bubbles!

And lots of kids running around in the rain!
 Hot dogs with friends.
 We love Taylor and Ryan!

Horse riding time!  I was hoping Maddie did not get her equestrian skills from yours truly.

 She loved it!
Then we headed to Taylor's 5th birthday at Southlake Gymnastics.  It was a fun/sugar filled day!

This came up this week...4 years ago in this time.

Where did my baby go?!

Ta-Da!  Just like that she has grown into the sweetest little girl.

Each passing month/year I think I like the current better than the last and wonder how it is possible to love her any more than I did the day before.
We are still working on her trying to put herself to sleep.  Let's just say that she loves her Mommy to lay with her (and rub her feet) as she falls asleep.  I need to make a list: 10 ways to know you have an only child.  I'm pretty sure that would be up in the top 3.
She's pretty smart.  I told her one night, "Maddie, you are a big girl, big girls go to bed by themselves." To which she promptly said, "But I'll always be your baby."  And just like that, this Mommy hopped under the covers! haha

I like to stitch in the OR and clearly I like to Pic stitch.
Some of my favorites of 2017.

Happy Sunday!
