Summer time is winding down?! Wasn't it just yesterday I was rejoicing at the thought of NO school zones on my AM commute?
What says summer like braids?!
Or slip and slides?
Or late night movie nights with popcorn and manicures?
or snow cones with school friends?
No telling what these three were giggling about. Maddie LOVES Lilly and Hazel.
Maddie has gotten to where she likes her hair "Staight (yes, I know misspelled, this is exactly how she says it) like Mama's Hair."
We all want what we don't have, don't we, and it starts off young. This is about as straight as it gets, despite a LOT of work. haha
Well, this was after school so a sweaty day had made it more curly than it started.
Here is with some cheetos she picked out to take to Nana in the hospital. That Maddie loves those cheetos about as much as her Nana does.
This was a week Robert traveled out of town for work, so it was just us girls.
Modeling her straight hair, day 2 of Mama having to wake early to fix her hair!
A little after work manicure, why yes, I think we will.
Then these two chicas headed to Chic-fil-A.
Admiring her manicure. Maddie picked her own colors out. And yes, we decided to come home and watch TV and eat popcorn.
It does get tricky being on my own. She is CONSTANTLY stuck to my hip. I can hardly sneak out of bed when I need to work. So yes, this is my AM early companion.
By the end of the week we were ready for Daddy to come home.
Yes, as you can see, it was a rough week for us.
When Daddy got home, we had a lot to celebrate...not only his welcome home, but also his upcoming birthday!
Maddie decided she wanted to take him to Zoey's. (I have trained her well.)
Showing Daddy his cards we made.
Then she had a little mini fashion show for him. We got in her new school UNIFORMS!
She was so excited. She had helped me pick out what she wanted a few weeks prior. She is definitely a fan of dresses.
Then coloring with Daddy.
For dinner, we let Daddy choose the spot, Reno Reds.
Maddie and I had worked hard on his birthday dessert. ;)
Happy 36th Birthday, Robert!
And because one day is never enough to celebrate someone so special, we had another party with the whole gang on his real birthday.
Maddie chose is birthday banner.
We enjoyed just spending time together. What this year has taught us is to enjoy each moment, we never know what the next day holds.
These sweet baby cuddles are medicine for the soul I know.
How could this little smile not make anyone feel better?!
The Covington Crew. Sunny smiles!
It worked out well, we celebrated Robert's birthday Sunday, then Nana and Papa stayed overnight so that Nana could plan to be admitted for another round of therapy (this time she will have to be admitted 10 days, rather than 7).
That Monday was Maddie's first day of the school calendar year at Primrose so Nana and Papa were able to drop her off for us, since she usually goes very early on Mondays.
Talk about a good first day of school.
Madelyn Grace. First Day of Pre-K, 2017.
Nana and Papa always get the good smiles.
This came up as three years prior. Look at how much taller she has gotten!
After work, we swang by to see Nana. But we ended up missing her, just as we got there they took her down for plasmapheresis which takes several hours. But, we did get her room decorated for her!
We sent a few selfies to her while she was down on the dialysis floor.
School days.
Proud of her new headband.
Hmmm, Red and blue, or blue and red? Choices choices.
New backpack she received.
I think it is as big as she is.
Hmmm, on Amazing Athletes day no more comfy cute, but we did manage to have some skorts that would work.
After school, another quick trip to see Nana.
Notice the cheetos.
Friday Free day!
Of course Maddie chose a dress.
I noticed this as I was dropping her off.
I asked who the person was beside her...she said "Baby Gant!"
I love how all her pictures have earrings. haha
Yes, I am planting the seed early.
This weekend we headed in for a baby shower.
Some quick pictures before we headed out to decorate for the shower.
Eyeing the cookies. We had some good help setting up let me tell you.
That smile makes any sugar cookie sweet.
Avery, Madelyn, and Finley.
Celebrating baby Claire.
Me and my mini Me.
These are two different pictures, two different times. Let's just say that with this extra Mommy time, I have a new little shadow.
The hostesses.
We headed back Saturday after the shower and stopped by quick to say hello. Maddie brought her coloring book to work on with Nana.
At home, Maddie threw me a little early birthday party. What...is it September already? ;)
Robert stayed behind to build a deer stand, so we had another girl's weekend.
I have so much fun with this little girl. She truly is a little delight.
Helping me fold clothes. We did LOTS of laundry.
Now, there is not one remaining thing! Can I get an amen?!
Breakfast with my baby.
I'll be honest, my FAVORITE month of the year is September, and not because it is my sister/mom's/my birthday month...no, because it means FALL IS COMING!
How I love ALL things fall.
And yes, I am already on the lookout for the fall creamers. This will do for now.
Night night, sleep tight
Monday is upon us!
BUT...Monday for us will be a Wednesday, because come hump day the Sedas are headed to Florida! Too bad it looks like rain the whole time. haha. I'll take a movie-fest at this point.
Stay tuned for vacation pictures to come!
