7 Weeks.

7 Weeks old this weekend!  It was a big weekend for Madelyn.  She was blessed at church and got her first bible, complete with her little name monogrammed on it.  We are grateful for a congregation that will pray over our child..."Prayers of a righteous man avail much."
I pray for this child daily...for health, intelligence, good fortune, a kind spirit, and most of all, a heart cultivated with God's word.

 "No pics for now, please!"
"Ok, I'm back with lots of smiles!"

 and some more smiles...

How I love this little girl.  I wanted a picture with Daddy, but when Maddie gets tired of pictures, that's all we get...and what you see is what we got!

Thank you Nana for the outfit...Nana has style like I have sass!
With Daddy in front of our NEW car (first one either one of us has ever owned).  We weren't exactly in the market for a car with all the new things we have in our life right now, but Robert's car pretty much quit running.  We will miss not having a car payment, but we need a safe car to haul this little one around!  I think the car is gorgeous, but I'm partial to the little pink dot you see in the picture! :)

After church small group...so exhausted she fell asleep before we finished undressing her!
Sad to see our three day weekend end...Happy Memorial Day!

My First Mother's Day Weekend

I was only about a month into being a mother when Mother's Day arrived, so I almost felt like I hadn't earned the day just yet...ALMOST I said! haha  That weekend was bittersweet in that it was the weekend that I started back full-time to work.  (Previously I had gone in a few times for a day or so, but this weekend, there was no looking back to the days of being a stay-at-home, full-time mommy.)
I got very lucky and only had to round for the weekend, so both days I went in very early and was able to get home early.  I even made it home on Sunday in time to go to church...got dressed in about five minutes flat, too, ask Robert!  Yes, being a mama, I now spend longer getting Madelyn dressed than I do myself...and I am perfectly fine with that.
I spent my time off cuddling little one...she is the only present I wanted.  But, Daddy got me a sweet little card and flowers.  He had gotten me an upgrade on Maddie's birthstone, too just before she was born...I told him that would be my push present, Mother's day, birthday, and Christmas!
My first Mother's Day flowers...pink, of course, they know me well!
Maddie was extra sweet for the weekend, here she is just talking to Mama...

Look at the life in those little eyes, I get happy just looking at these pictures!

I could just eat her up!
I came downstairs and Daddy had dressed her up to go out for a little family drive.
Maddie and Me.  Yes, by the looks of it, this must have been a time that it took me five minutes to get dressed.

We finished the day off with bath time.  It was baby girl's first CRY-FREE bath!  That was almost as sweet a present as the smiles above...ALMOST.

 Sweet kisses.

6 Weeks!

Baby girl is 6 weeks old today.  When I look back at her newborn pictures (which I still do very often) I cannot believe how much she has grown.  Just holding her she feels more solid and sturdy now.  She will always be my little china doll though. Not only has her little body grown, but so has her personality!  She has begun to smile at us...a LOT.  The first few times she did it we still attributed it to "gas."  But we noticed she mainly smiled when we got in her face and talked to her, so then we knew those gummy grins were meant for us.  Talk about melting your heart!  I daydream about that little smile at work.  She is a morning baby like her Mama and Papa and hands out smiles like candy at her 3:30 am feeding so I never mind taking duty for those feeds!
Knock on wood, but it seems like we have all begun to hit a stride.  She is such a good little baby.  She only cries when she is wet, tired...or most importantly, HUNGRY!  But other than that, she love, love, loves to cuddle in our arms when sleeping and lay on her giraffe mat and "talk" to us when awake.  She gets so excited when we mimic her little coos back to her!  We are still working on trying to like tummy and bath time...stay tuned!

Here are some pictures from her 6-week photo shoot.  What would we do without Daddy the photographer?!  He is so good at getting those little smiles to appear, too!

Look at those oh-so-kissable cheeks she now has!

It always takes a few pictures to warm up to the camera...
 Getting warmer...
And here they come...smiles to melt your heart!

This little outfit is one that Granny got for Madelyn, one of her friends made this...isn't it gorgeous?  You cannot buy outfits like those.  Glad we put it on her when we did, it was almost too small...ugh, wasn't it just yesterday that you were wearing preemie clothes, baby love?!

Kaimi always loved the color purple...and if you cannot tell, I have always loved pink.  But, I think Madelyn pulls purple off quite well!

Thank you sweet baby for making these last 6 weeks the sweetest of my life.
